Johnson, Joseph
Joseph Johnson of New York was awarded a painting entitled "New York Harbor" (no. 36), measuring 42 x 28 inches, at the 1850 American Art Union. The painting is described as showing vessels of all kinds lying at anchor or sailing. In the distance are the spires of the city.
